Anglesey First Response Teams go from strength to strength

The Ambulance First Response Scheme in Anglesey reached another milestone on Saturday 20th January when two new teams were inaugurated. The villages of Benllech, Malltraeth and their surrounding areas will now come under the umbrella of the scheme thanks to the participation of volunteers from both villages.

Joining with teams from Holyhead, Trearddur Bay, RAF Valley, Rhosneigr, Llanddona and Beaumaris, the Benllech and Malltraeth teams will add even more scope to the coverage.

Officially launching the teams on a windy, blustery morning in Benllech, Anglesey MP Albert Owen was once more vociferous in his support of the scheme and the time and effort that its members contributed towards assisting the NHS Ambulance Trust in providing a service for the people of Anglesey. Since its inauguration, Albert Owen has been 100% behind the efforts of the scheme and recognizes the need within local communities for such assistance to the Ambulance Trust.

All training is provided and any commitment in terms of hours is purely at the discretion of the individual volunteer. Team members are made up from all ages and all walks of life, many having no prior training in first aid prior to joining the scheme. If you feel you could give a little of your time to help your community and in the process possibly save a life then why not contact us for a chat. Volunteers are required for all areas of the Island. More information can be found on our web site www.angleseyfirstresponse.co.uk
