Praise for Volunteer

A Volunteer lifesaver has been commended for his efforts.

The Welsh Ambulance Trust has officially commended Robert Thomas, of Valley, Anglesey, for his outstanding contribution to the Anglesey First Responders Scheme. Robert works as a retail assistant in Holyhead, but has been a member of the Responders since its inception in 2004. The award was instigated by a Paramedic who felt that his professionalism and contribution were worthy of recognition .

The Anglesey First Response Scheme assists the Welsh Ambulance Trust by providing voluntary community based personnel to attend selected emergency calls. The volunteers are tasked by the ambulance control on receipt of selected calls, and they respond to adresses within their own locality, provding life saving care within minutes. The volunteers are always accompanied by fully trained ambulance staff and all the volunteer staff are reguarly assessed by the Trust
